World Special Olympics Jeffrey Jarvis ( Melton Mowbray. Leics) won 3 gold medals at Shanghai- Mens Singles, Mens Doubles, Mixed Doubles. Jeffrey represents NW because his SO club is at Crewe but he is also coached locally by Shirley Pickering - ETTA Community Coach of last year - and plays in the Leicester and District Table Tennis League who are very proud of their world champion and helps to supports his events . Special Olympics Bournemouth Table Tennis event On October 21st 3 players who are members of the Special Olympics Leicester Table Tennis Club based at Knighton Park TT Club in Leicester represented East Midlands at this event which attracted about 40 players. David Ludlow and Peter Hirniak did really well to win silver medals in their class divisions- 6 and 4 respectively- while 13 year old Patrick Cox finished 4th in division 3- a fine achievement. Future events Peter and Patrick will be playing in the Rotary Team Disabled Games at Coventry in November and all 3 will be at the Merseyside Open in Liverpool in December and hopefully the National Special Olympic Championships in Crewe in April
